Obviously, it’s all about the bride, but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to feel fantastic and stand out from the crowd in a gorgeous dress suitable for a wedding guest! Many of us love an excuse to get dressed up for a special occasion, but what to go for?

A 50’s dress is a great option, the nipped in waists of this style are so flattering on women of all ages, shapes and sizes, you can’t go wrong with this silhouette.

Something unique. It sounds like an obvious thing to say, but we’ve all been there, we’re getting ready, feeling good, arrive at the wedding, go and get a drink and you turn round and there’s a lady stood right in front of you, looking equally as gorgeous, in the same dress as you. “Nooo” you think! Of course, the best thing to do if this happens is to own it and make a joke about how lovely her dress is and politely laugh it off, but wouldn’t you rather it didn’t happen in the first place?

Why not opt for a made to order dress?

50s dressCustom-made dresses are a great way to ensure this doesn’t happen and they can be more accessible than you might initially think.

Once you’ve chosen your base style, you can select from different sleeve lengths, necklines, fabrics and finishes to make your dress your own.

My satin dresses with a lace top worn over them are also a popular option, it gives you a bit of coverage for the day time, and if you want to, you can remove the lace top later on to give you a different look to dance the night away in! It also means that with a few of the separates options, you can wear the same base dress to several weddings, styled completely differently every time. A great way to get plenty of use out of your ensemble.

Louise Rose Couture offers two ways to get your hands on a one-of-a-kind dress. If you are local enough (Reading, UK), you can make an appointment at the studio or a stockist, and get the full experience and benefit of my assistance. If this is not possible, don’t worry, you can still order directly from my Etsy shop in a standard size and still customise your dress with various options!

Bear in mind turn around times for having a dress made, whilst it is usually possible to create your dress within 4 weeks, over busy periods lead times may be longer. Get in touch to book an appointment or browse the online shop for current occasion dresses available.
